Set Up AVD in Android

How to set Up AVD or Emulator in Andorid :

In order to run the Android application you must have an Emulator.

Android Emulator:  The Android SDK includes a mobile device emulator — a virtual mobile device that runs on your computer. The emulator lets you develop and test Android applications without using a physical device.





Steps to create an emulator:

  1. Click on Android Virtual device manager icon on top of Eclipse IDE.
  2. After click new window will appear.
  3. Click on new button.
  4. Set a new AVD name in new window.
  5. Choose the device from device drop down.
  6. Select a target from target dropdown like Android 4.3 – API level 18.
  7. New AVD is created.
  8. Select the recently created AVD and click on start button.
  9. Emulator will Launch.
  10. Wait until the home screen appears on the emulator.
  11. Now run the application on the target AVD.
